Acupressure Points for Gray Hair


Acupressure can improve blood circulation and restore gray hair to its natural color by applying pressure to specific points on the body. The following are the commonly used acupressure points to restore gray hair that you can do on your own. Instead of pressing with your fingers, you can also use acupressure stick. Once you learn this simple self-care technique, you can use it anywhere and anytime.

Taichong (LR3)

Taichong is an acupressure point which can facilitate the smooth flow of qi throughout the body. It is located on your foot about two finger widths above the place where the skin of your big toe and the next toe join. Use your thumb and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with thumb. You may feel a little soreness. This procedure should have been repeated for the other foot.

Hegu (LI4)

Hegu, also known as Union Valley, can be used for stress, headaches and neck pain. It is often used with Taichong point. It is located on the highest spot of the muscle when the thumb and forefinger are brought close together. Use your thumb and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with thumb. This procedure should have been repeated for the other hand.

Fengchi (GB20)

Fengchi, also known as Wind Pool, can improve blood circulation in the neck and head. It is located behind your earlobe, toward the top of your neck and the base of your skull. Use your thumb or forefinger and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with finger.

Baihui (GV20)

Baihui, also known as Hundred Meeting, can improve blood circulation in the head and encourage hair growth. It is located at the top of the head. Press it gently for about 1 minute. Then, release your finger for about 30 seconds, and repeat the process for few times.
