Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM) was established in 1956, is one of first four colleges of traditional Chinese medicine in China. Boasting of complete disciplines and a group of celebrated experts, the university has taken an academic leadership among the colleges of traditional Chinese medicine in China, with integration of education, clinic and scientific research. Since 50 years ago, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has cultivated various kinds of TCM professors for our country. In 1999, the university passed the evaluation of “National Excellent college of Undergraduate Education”, being the first university of traditional Chinese medicine honored with this reputation in China.
Located in the innovative Zhangjiang Free Trade Zone, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a research-oriented educational institution with distinctive features and collaborative outreach. With its beautiful campus, distinguished professors, well-designed curriculum and prestigious hospitals, the University is attracting more and more international students from all over the world. Annually, there are over 1,000 full degree students in Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture & Tuina and Chinese Language, coupled with additional 1,000 students for short-term training. The past decades have witnessed the graduation or training of over 10,000 international Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners and acupuncturists. Short-term training courses are taught in Chinse, English, French, Japanese and Korean.
